The Office of Global Education and the Office of Mission & Ministry teamed up during Critical Concerns Week to create a collaborative mural on campus titled “GCU Gives Back to the Earth,” using Photio, a cutting-edge paint additive from Chile!
Photio contains nanoparticles that react to UV light, mimicking photosynthesis. This reaction breaks down pollutants and carbon dioxide in the air, effectively transforming any painted surface into a powerful air purifier–similar to a wall of 50 mature trees.
This stunning mural by Georgian Court alumna and artist Emily Donovan marks our third project using Photio, following earlier collaborations in Chile and Lakewood, thanks to the UniDos Chile Exchange Program. The mural was officially unveiled on campus during last month’s Collaborative Mural Project event.
We’re proud to blend art, science, and environmental action to raise awareness in a beautiful and impactful way!
Stop on by to see the mural in person, located right next to the Campus Bookstore.
